God Makes Things Happen

Elisha asked Elijah for a double portion of his spirit. It was a bold request and Elijah said it was a difficult thing to ask for.

But, of course, nothing is impossible with God. And when God's fiery angel chariot & house whisked Elijah away, his cloak was left with Elisha as evidence of God's blessing on him.

The series of stories we read about Elisha in 2 Kings 1-10 reveal how God provides for His people in the most difficult of times.

Things that are impossible with man, but when God's favor is extended -- God makes things happen.

From provided food and water, to tools for a job. From raising the dead to recognizing the fiery spiritual angel army that is present.

At the right time God takes care of evil political leadership when needed and brings judgment upon evil for generations to come.

The specific circumstances we face in the 21st century may be different but God has answers for us in our generation just as He did way back then.

The difficulties of life are helped by knowing The Lord's presence and The Lord's grace & mercy are with us.

When we need provision, it is provided. When we need to endure hardships, patient endurance and a confident hope give us a peace that passes understanding during our trials.

Entrust yourself, your family & friends, your co-workers, our county - state - & nation into The Lord's hands today.

God is in control even when it looks like everything is chaotic and out of control.

And we can learn these same lessons as we consider the story of Jonah this next week.

God's will, will be done!
